Ventura Man Killed in Ventura Solo-Vehicle Wreck
A 42-year-old David Bartlett was killed is a severe traffic collision that occurred on February 22, 2012, around 10 a.m. on westbound Highway 126 (SR-126) just east of Victoria Avenue. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Steve Reid, Bartlett's pickup truck drifted to the right, went off the highway and finally struck a large eucalyptus tree.
The truck then hit a chain-link fence and finally stopped in an avocado orchard. Bartlett sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the accident scene. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
If it is found that there was loss of control due to vehicular malfunction, then the auto maker may be held liable for this accident. Meanwhile, the victim’s family members should immediately seek counsel from an experienced Ventura County car crash lawyer who would educate them about their legal rights.
The victim’s family members may file a wrongful death claim against the manufacturer to obtain compensation to cover funeral and burial costs, loss of anticipated earnings, loss of love, care and companionship, and other accident-related damages.
Our law office sends sincere condolences to the victim’s family members.
