San Diego County Bus Accident Leaves Seven Injured

A North County Transit District bus driver and six passengers sustained injuries when their bus collided with a pickup truck on the afternoon of August 28, 2010. According to Valley Center authorities this accident occurred around 2p.m. on North Lake Wohlford Road south of Valley Center.

The southbound pick up truck crossed into the northbound lanes and struck the district bus. Sgt. Scott Payson said that the left front end of the truck hit the left front of the bus and caused moderate damage to both the vehicles. The pickup driver fortunately escaped unhurt, but the bus driver along with his passengers suffered injuries. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment of their injuries.

The windshield of the bus shattered and some of the passengers complained of back and neck pain. Investigating officers are trying to determine why the pickup driver entered into the wrong lane on a straight stretch of road. Payson said that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be the reason behind this crash, but distraction due to cell phone cannot be ruled out. A right-of-way violation may have played a part in this traffic collision. California law requires drivers to give the right of way to oncoming vehicles and to cars who have already entered the intersection from a different road.

If this accident occurred due to the negligence of either or both of the drivers, then the responsible persons might be liable to pay legal compensation to the injured passengers for medical costs and other related deamages.

San Diego Hit and Run Auto Accident Kills Alpine Man

A young Alpine man recently lost his life in a San Diego County pedestrian accident when he was struck by a hit and run driver. The auto accident happened on State Route 94 (SR-94) near Jefferson Road in Jamul. The young man, identified as Jonathan Michael Ulmer of Alpine, was 21 years old. He is survived by his mother.

A passing motorist noticed Ulmer lying on the highway around 3 a.m. According to California Highway Police, there were no witnesses to the accident. The authorities are still investigating the accident.

Our office wishes to offer our sincere condolences and heartfelt prayers to Ulmer’s friends and family. They must have a number of questions after their child was struck by a hit and run driver and no witnesses existed. Losing someone you love is never easy but not having them with you because of someone else’s fault is really tough. We hope that a thorough investigation takes place and the guilty driver is caught and prosecuted. There are few things that people do that infuriate our office more than those who injure other people and flee the scene.

Escondido I-15 rollover car accident

We are glad that no one was seriously hurt due to this traffic collision. But it goes without saying that one has to be exceedingly cautious on the road, and more so on the freeway. Everyone was very lucky that the injuries suffered in this accident were not more serious.

San Diego County Car Accident SR-67

22-year old Lakeside resident, Jason Cooley lost control of his northbound 2007 Chevrolet Impala just south of Foster Truck Trail, which made it cross over a set of double yellow lines and smash into an oncoming Toyota Yaris. The driver of the Toyota, 23-year old Sean Harkey of San Diego, suffered a broken arm and a fractured leg. He had to be cut out of his vehicle. Cooley and his 12-month old son sustained less serious injuries. It is believed that Cooley may have been intoxicated at the time of the accident.

Our law office expresses our prayers and best wishes to the injured and prays that all have a quick recovery. The numbers of cases that are being reported nowadays related to DUI are on an increase. Almost every day someone seems to be injured or killed because he was driving under influence of alcohol or was hit by someone who was drunk. Those who wish to drink, should do so responsibly and should not get behind the wheel to drive.

San Diego Swideswipe Car Accident Injures Border Patrol Officers

Two U.S. Border Patrol agents suffered minor injuries in a San Diego auto accident accident on March 7, 2010, when they were sideswiped by another car near Harris Ranch Road on State Route 94 (SR-94). The car crash took place around 7:20 pm.

The driver who hit the Border Patrol officers took off after the collision but was quickly tracked down at her home. She claims that she did not realize she had hit their patrol vehicle until the investigators contacted her. She also claims that she heard what sounded like a gunshot when she struck the deputies. The driver had her driver’s license for less than 30 days when the accident occurred

We are thankful that nothing serious took place. At the same time we feel that those people who have just learned to drive should be more careful while on the road, not just for their safety but for other’s as well. Also, it is very difficult if not impossible to believe her story about how the collision occurred. Drivers feel when their vehicles strike another object with enough force to cause injury. That was most certainly the case here. She was most likely trying to escape responsibility.
