Husband And Wife Suffered Injuries In San Diego Solo Car Crash

A husband and wife in their 60s were injured in a San Diego car crash in a City Heights alley on May 24, 2011, at about 3 p.m. According to the reports, the couple was heading south in the sloping access road off the 4200 block of 52nd Street when the man lost control of their older-model four-door Oldsmobile. The speed and slope sent the car crashing through a security gate and into a wall with high impact.

Medics took the husband and wife to a hospital, where the woman was given treatment for a fractured leg and a serious head injury. The husband suffered minor injuries. The husband told the police that he tried to step on the brake but the car did not stop. Traffic investigators are looking into whether mechanical failure caused the accident.

From the available information, it is quite clear that the loss of control contributed to this serious car accident. An apparent brake failure appears to be the reason of the accident. Now the investigating officers need to determine whether the loss of control was indeed due to a mechanical failure, any design issue or bad condition of the road.

If it is found that the elderly motorist lost control due to a mechanical failure, then the auto maker and auto insurance company will be held liable for the injuries suffered by both the victims. The injured motorist should immediately consult with an experienced San Diego car accident lawyer to investigate how the accident occurred and to determine if there are any facts which would suggest that the accident was the cause of a mechanical failure.

An experienced San Diego auto accident lawyer will help the victims obtain compensation to cover treatment, medical costs, and other accident-related expenses.

Our personal injury law office hopes and prays that the injuries suffered by the victims heal soon and they recover to their complete health.

Serious San Diego Rollover Car Accident On I-805 and SR-94

A serious San Diego rollover car accident occurred on April 21, 2011, on southbound Interstate 805 (I-805) at eastbound State Route 94 (SR-94), San Diego. According to the responding California Highway Patrol Officers, this serious traffic collision involved a truck.

From the present limited information, it is unclear what caused this major car accident and the extent of injuries to the driver and any occupant is also not known. Since the news says that it involved a truck, the involvement of more vehicles cannot be ruled out.

With such limited information, it becomes difficult to speculate whose fault this accident is. Who or which factor led caused this car wreck? Bad road conditions or poor design, manufacturing defect, or any driver’s negligence are a few of the many contributing factors.

The impact of this accident cannot be understated. The financial impact to the injured people includes hospitalization charges, costs involved in treatment of injuries, lost wages in the interim, pain and suffering, and several other damages that one cannot apprehend right now. The best act for anyone injured in this accident is to contact and consult with an experienced San Diego car accident attorney who would lead the victims through this tough and confusing time. The lawyer can help locate and collect the compensation needed for the injured motorists and do his own investigation if required.

Our personal injury office sincerely hopes that the injuries suffered by the victim or victims do not prove life threatening.

Two Die In Downtown San Diego Auto Accident

Two people died in a fatal head-on Downtown San Diego auto accident that occurred on April 16, 2011, around 1:25 a.m. on Interstate 5 near Downtown San Diego. According to the California Highway Patrol Officers, this fatal head on collision occurred between a red Nissan Altima and a Honda Civic Sedan as both of them were crossing each other at Route 163.
Cassaundra Olivarria, 23, the Nissan driver was immediately transported to UCSD Medical Center for treatment and was pronounced dead there around 3:35 a.m., whereas the Honda driver was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

According to California Highway Patrol Officers, the exact cause of this fatal car accident that took lives of two people is still under investigation. However, since this was a head-on auto accident, it seems that one of the drivers was driving the wrong way on the freeway. Based on the limited information and the fact that two drivers were involved, it is not clear as to whose negligence or inattentive driving lead to this car accident. The possibility of any other contributing factor cannot be ruled out. Were any of the drivers driving under influence? Were the drivers fatigued? We trust that the investigating officials would take all these possibilities into consideration while determining the exact cause of this car accident.

The families of the victims should immediately seek counsel from an experienced San Diego car accident attorney who would help them obtain compensation to cover expenses involved in funeral and burial procedures, loss of anticipated future lifetime earnings of the victim, and loss of love, care and companionship. An experienced car accident attorney will not only be able to help obtain compensation but also carry on an independent investigation. Promptness is a major factor in such investigation and only a timely investigation can yield constructive results.

Our law office offers our sincere condolences to all those who knew and loved the victims for their loss. We really hope that they gather enough power to deal with this tragic accident.

Child Seriously Hurt In San Diego Auto Accident

An unidentified 7-year-old child suffered serious leg injuries in a San Diego auto accident that occurred on November 23, 2010, at the intersection of Fairmount and Home avenues. According to San Diego Police Officer David Stafford, the child was travelling in a 2006 Nissan Altima which was struck by a 1995 Lincoln Mark VIII.

Officer Stafford said that the Altima entered the intersection with the green light, while the Lincoln's driver ran a red light in the opposite direction. One child and an adult in Altima suffered serious injuries in this car accident. Two adults in the Lincoln also suffered minor injuries in this auto accident.

Clearly the Lincoln’s driver violated the law by running the red light. High speed also appears to have played a major part in causing this auto accident. During the investigation if it is established that the Lincoln’s driver was at fault, then the injured victims will be eligible to obtain damages to cover the cost of medical treatment, hospital bills, lost earnings and earning capacity, pain and suffering, and other accident related damages.

The injured victims should seek the advice of an experienced San Diego car accident attorney who would advise them of their rights and provide the best chance of obtaining compensation for them

Two Killed, Two Injured In San Diego Car Accident

Deshaun Glover, 20, and Candice McLean, 21, were killed in a fatal San Diego car accident that occurred on northbound Interstate 805 on November 12, 2010 before 1:30 a.m. According to the county Medical Examiner's Office, Glover was riding the car while McLean was a passenger at the back seat when this accident occurred.

According to the California Highway Patrol, both the victims were ejected from the vehicle as it skidded off the pathway and went out of control. Two other females present in the car at the time suffered minor to moderate injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The exact cause of this car accident is under investigation.

It cannot be ruled out that the car might have skidded due to poor road conditions or due to a mechanical failure. Was the road wet and did that cause the car to skid? Was there a danger sign missing to caution any road condition? If it is found that this car accident occurred to any design issue or unkempt roads, then the concerned authority might be held liable for victims’ death. Glover’s and McLean’s family members can file a wrongful death claim against the government agency in charge of the road to obtain compensation to cover the cost of funeral, loss of love and companionship, loss of anticipated future earnings of the deceased, and other accident related damages.

We offer our sincere condolences to Glover’s and McLean’s family for such a heart rendering loss. The loss of young children is catastrophic and we wish for strength for the family to pass through this tough time.

Two Killed In San Diego Car Accident Along I-5

A 58-year old man and woman were killed in a fatal San Diego truck accident that occurred on October 11, 2010, in the Bay Park area of San Diego along Interstate 5 (I-5). Both of them were among four people travelling in a Toyota Tundra northbound along the freeway when it spun out of control just south of Clairemont Drive. This San Diego traffic accident occurred around 11 a.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the man killed in this truck accident was driving the truck that went out of control and spun before coming to rest. The truck driver made an attempt to change lanes when he swerved the truck to avoid colliding with another vehicle.

Witnesses present at the traffic accident scene reported that the truck weaved around before it started skidding on the freeway. CHP public affairs Officer Jesse Udovich said that two other occupants present in the truck suffered injuries and were transported to Scripps Hospital for treatment.

Investigating officers need to find out the exact cause of this fatal San Diego truck accident that took two lives. They need to find out whether the driver lost control due to unsafe road conditions or any mechanical defect in the car. If it is found that the driver lost control due to any design issue, mechanical fault, or bad condition of road, then the victims’ families can file a wrongful death suit for compensation. Interstate 15 Auto Accident Kills Two

Two people were killed and one suffered serious injuries in an Interstate 15 (I-15) car accident on October 9, 2010, around 6:50 p.m. Authorities said that this fatal San Diego car accident occurred along along I-15 in City Heights.

California Highway Patrol officers said witnesses reported that one sedan went down the slope and the other down an embankment after both of vehicles collided. One female and another person were ejected from the car and both of them died at the traffic accident scene. Three people in the second car remained trapped in the car before they were evacuated.

On their arrival, paramedics found three people in critical condition and transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment. California Highway Patrol Seaergent said that there were two other people involved in this car accident who left the accidence scene before the authorities arrived. California Highway Patrol officers closed transition ramps from both north and south Interstate 15 to Interstate 805 for investigation.

This news report offers very few details about what caused this fatal car accident. There are several questions here. Who caused the accident? Who was at fault? Did alcohol or drugs play a part? Was one of the drivers fatigued at the time of the crash? Was speed or distraction a factor? Was there an auto defect or mechanical malfunction that caused the driver to lose control? We sincerely hope that investigating officials are looking into these and other issues in order to determine how or why this car collision occurred.

In such cases, accident victims can seek compensation to cover medical expenses, loss of wages, cost of hospitalization, rehabilitation, pain and suffering, and other accident related damages. San Diego Auto Accident Seriously Injures Clairemont Woman

A 39-year old Clairemont woman sustained serious injuries when her car collided with an empty dump truck near Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego on August 23, 2010 around 9:00 a.m. in the morning.

San Diego police lieutenant Andra Brown said a dump truck allegedly ran the red light from the State Route 163 (SR-163) off-ramp to Kearny Villa Road and hit a compact sedan driven by the woman. The female car driver suffered major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. It is not clear whether the truck driver was hurt. Investigating officers closed the lanes to investigate the exact cause of this crash.

California law requires drivers to come to a complete stop at a stop sign and proceed with caution. According to California Vehicle Code section 21802 (a): "The driver of any vehicle approaching a stop sign at the entrance to, or within, an intersection shall stop as required by Section 22450. The driver shall then yield the right-of-way to any vehicles which have approached from another highway, or which are approaching so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to those vehicles until he or she can proceed with reasonable safety." It clearly appears that the truck driver violated the traffic rules and caused this accident. It is possible that the truck driver was distracted or was driving under influence. Since there has been violation of traffic rules, the truck driver or his employer might be liable to pay a legal compensation to the injured woman for medical expenses, cost of medical care, and for pain and suffering.

It is unfortunate that the truck driver’s negligent driving caused the woman so much suffering. We hope that she recovers to her complete health soon.

Two Killed in San Diego Auto Accident on I-8

Rebecca O’Mara, 21 of North Park, and Joshua Carr, 25 of Chula Vista, were killed and a third person suffered major injuries in a head-on car collision on Interstate 8 (I-8) in Mission Bay Park on Saturday, May 1, 2010. The traffic collision occurred at about 2:35 a.m. on the Ocean Beach Freeway near where it terminates at a t-shaped intersection at Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol officers at the scene.

Rebecca and Joshua were in a 2008 Honda Civic and Adrian Villanueva, Jr., 25, of San Diego, was driving a 2008 Toyota Tundra. The car wreck between the two vehicles occurred around 2:35 a.m when they collided head on and one vehicle flipped over.. Adrian suffered a broken right wrist and left collarbone. Investigations are on to determine the cause of the collision as to who was going the wrong way on the freeway and also to rule out if Adrian was drunk.

We offer our deepest condolences to the family members of Rebecca and Joshua for the loss of their dear ones. It is very heart-breaking to bear the loss of young family members. It is hard to believe that the California Highway Patrol has yet to determine which driver was driving the wrongway on the freeway considering that section of I-8is divided. It is also hard to imagine that this accident did not involve alcohol and driving under the influence. If it is determined that one of the drivers was headed the wrong way on the freeway and under the influence of alcohol, the occupants of the other vehicle may be entitled to compensation. Families for all parties should consult with an experienced personal injury attorney to determine their rights.

San Diego Car Wreck Injures Two Women When Car Crashes Into House

Two 90-year old women were injured in a San Diego car accident on March 16, 2010 when their car veered off a La Playa-area street and crashed into a garage.

The driver of the sedan lost control while making a turn onto the 400 block of Rosecrans Street in Point Loma shortly after noon. The vehicle crashed into a garage door, destroying it, and damaging the corner of the carport. Paramedics took the driver and her passenger to UCSD Medical Center for treatment for their injuries.

Though we are glad that no major injuries were suffered and all the property damage can be repaired, we remain very concerned about monitoring the driving ability of elderly drivers. While we understand that senior citizens value their independence and mobility just as much as anyone else, the fact of the matter is that reaction times and motor skills diminish with age. In addition, the likelihood of serious accidents being caused by stroke or heart attack also increases. We support efforts that allow senior citizens to drive provided they undergo more frequent testing in order to keep their drivers’ license.

San Diego, CA Family Sues Toyota for Fatal Car Crash

A San Diego lawsuit was filed by the surviving family members of California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Saylor and his family against automaker giant Toyota following the infamous car accident which took their lives. The Toyota 2009 Lexus ES- 350 provided to Officer Saylor by Bob Baker Lexus while Officer Saylor’s vehicle’s was being repaired had started unexpectedly and uncontrollably accelerating. The Lexus raced across San Diego’s freeways and roads before finally crashing and bursting into flames in Santee.

The lawsuit accuses Toyota of manufacturing and distributing a dangerous product along with Bob Baker Lexus, the El Cajon based car dealership who loaned the sedan, for negligence. The surviving relatives are seeking an unspecified amount in damages.

Up to today, 58 people have been killed in the cases involving a Toyota vehicle with acceleration malfunctioning. While even one injury or lost life due to unexpected and uncontrollable acceleration is too many, these deaths are completely inexcusable. One would expect that the gas pedal or brake pedal in your car would work properly at all times. These are the controls that manage the speed of the vehicle itself. For the car to speed away without the guidance of the driver is a scary thought and can certainly cause severe injury and death.
