Motorist Dies in South LA Head-On Collision

35-year-old Marasho Kri Mazique, was killed in a fatal head-on car accident that occurred on May 8, 2011 around 2:09 a.m. in South Los Angeles. According to LA Police Sgt. Ronnie Cato, a motorist attempted to make a left turn when he struck Mazique’s vehicle head-on at Manchester Avenue and Figueroa Street.

Mazique was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he was later pronounced dead. A passenger in Mazique‘s car and the other motorist suffered serious injuries and were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

From the available information, it appears that negligent driving of the other motorist lead to this fatal car accident. It cannot be ruled out that the other motorist made an unsafe turn. However, it appears that there has been a right-of-way violation. California law requires drivers to give the right-of-way to oncoming vehicles and to vehicles who have already entered the intersection from a different road. Was the motorist distracted and did not notice Mazique’s car? Was he speeding? Only a detailed investigation will yield answers for these questions.

Mazique’s family members should immediately seek counsel from a Los Angeles experienced car accident lawyer to obtain a fair compensation to cover for funeral and burial costs, loss of anticipated earnings, loss of love and companionship and other accident related expenses.

An auto accident attorney will analyze all the aspects of this accident and would ensure that the at-fault party is held liable for Mazique’s wrongful death.
