Fatal Alpine Traffic Crash Kills Driver

Alpine Head-On Auto Accident Kills Woman

Cathrine Marie Harless, 63, of Alpine, died in a head-on auto accident in Alpine on Alpine Boulevard and Dunbar Lane just east of Flinn Springs at about 8:25 p.m. on October 2, 2010. According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office, the traffic collision occurred between a pickup and a sedan. Harless was a passenger in one of the vehicles.

Harless was declared dead at the car accident scene about 9:10 p.m. Alpine Boulevard remained closed until both the vehicles were removed around 11:30 p.m.

Based on the limited information provided in news accounts, the cause of the auto accident is not clear. It is not clear who was driving the sedan, how fast the sedan was travelling, and why the sedan collided with the pickup.
