SUV Passenger Dies in Needles Rollover Car Accident

53-year-old James Lucero, of Colorado, was killed in a tragic car wreck that occurred on November 17, 2011, around 1:50 p.m. along Interstate 40 (I-40). According to San Bernardino County coroner’s officials, a Nissan XTerra traveling west slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer and rolled over.

Lucero, who was a passenger in the SUV, suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The driver and three surviving passengers suffered serious injuries and were transported to nearby hospital to receive medical treatment.

From the available information, it is unclear what led to this serious car wreck. The accident is under investigation.
