46-year-old Jose Juan Ramirez, of Tijuana, was killed in a traffic collision that occurred on November 25, 2011, around 5:10 p.m. on Interstate 5 (I-5) approaching the Camino de la Plaza. According to San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office and the California Highway Patrol, Ramirez was driving a late-model Nissan sedan when he attempted to cut across two lanes of traffic. The car was struck on the passenger side by a Toyota Tacoma.
Medics transported Ramirez to the UCSD Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. From the available information, it is unclear what led to this serious car wreck. The accident is under investigation. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma can file a claim against Ramirez’s insurance company for any injuries or damages from the accident.
The victims’ family members should immediately seek counsel from an experienced San Diego County car accident lawyer who would educate them about their legal rights. The lawyer may also help them obtain compensation to cover funeral and burial costs, loss of anticipated wages, loss of love, care and companionship, and other accident-related damages.
