Banning I-10 Multiple-Vehicle Wreck Hospitalizes Five

Five people suffered minor to major injuries in a three-vehicle wreck that occurred on August 25, 2011, around 9:24 a.m. west of 22nd Street along Interstate 10 (1-10) in Banning. According to California Highway Patrol, the traffic accident caused an oil spill and blocked three westbound lanes.

Three people suffered moderate injuries and two others suffered minor bruises. Unfortunately, it is unclear from the facts of the story why the freeway accident occurred. There is a possibility that the pile-up may have been the result of a mechanical defect or design issue. It could have also been the result of an uneven road surface. Now it becomes the responsibility of the investigating officers to determine whether there was a loss of control or was one of the drivers driving recklessly.

The victims’ families should consult with a Riverside County personal injury attorney who can hire a trained private investigator to investigate how the injuries occurred and to determine if there are any facts, which would suggest that the multiple-car collision was the cause of someone else’s negligence. The injured victims can file a personal injury claim to obtain compensation to cover treatment, medical expenses, hospital costs, loss of wages, loss of earning capacity, and other accident-related damages.

Our personal injury law office sincerely hopes that the injuries suffered by the victims do not prove fatal.
