Sacramento Solo-Car Crash into House Kills Driver

Sac Car Accident The driver of a small compact car died in a car crash that occurred on July 21, 2011, around 10 p.m. at 15th Avenue of Franklin Boulevard. According to Sacramento police Lt. Steve Winton, the vehicle crashed through a wrought iron fence, crossed over about 150 feet of a parking lot and landed halfway into a house. The crash caused a gas leak that firefighters had to shut off before they could pull the victim out of the vehicle.

The injured motorist was immediately transported to UC Davis Medical Center to receive treatment but was pronounced dead within few minutes of arrival. Fortunately the woman who was inside the house was not injured. It becomes the responsibility of the investigating officers to determine what made the car driver veer into the apartment.

There are several questions here. Did alcohol or drugs play a part? Was the driver fatigued at the time of the crash? Was speed or distraction a factor? Was there an auto defect or mechanical malfunction that caused the driver to lose control? If it is found that the motorist lost control of the vehicle due to an automobile failure, then the auto maker will be held liable for victim’s wrongful death.

The victim’s family members should immediately seek counsel from a Sacramento car wreck lawyer who would educate them about their legal rights and options. An experienced auto accident attorney will help the family members obtain compensation to cover funeral and burial costs, loss of anticipated income, loss of love, care and companionship, and other accident-related damages.

Our law office offers sincere condolences to all those who knew and loved the victim for such a heart rendering loss.
