San Diego County Auto Accident Victim Found Near Border
The body of a little girl, faced down in the mud, was found in the Tijuana River Valley around 10.a.m. on Sunday, January 31,2010. It was spotted near a park at the west end of Monument Road in San Diego County.
The body, spotted by Pio Cruz--a volunteer with the Desert Angels--might belong to the 5- year old girl who was swept away in a San Diego County auto accident near the Tijuana River’s raging waters on January 20, 2010. The car accident led to the death of a mother and her eldest daughter, while two young children--a 2-year old son and 5-year old daughter--went missing. The body found by Cruz is believed to be the missing girl.
Last Wednesday, another body had been found which was believed to be of the 2-year old boy. But Lt. Margaret San Filippo with the San Diego Sheriff's Department commented that everything will be confirmed after DNA testing. The body is thought to have been swept away from the Tijuana side of the border though large tubes, big enough for a person to walk through.
We all had prayed for the safe return of the children. Unfortunately, that was not to be. Our office wishes to convey our condolences near to the family of the victims. This tragedy that has befallen the husband/father of this family cannot be expressed in words. It is just too great.
