Riverside County Car Accident Injures Indio Mother and Child

A mother and her one-year old child were injured in a Indio auto accident on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, as the mother ran a stop sign in the intersection of Clinton and De Oro in southwest Riverside County in the city of Indio. This serious car accident occurred around 4:40 p.m.

The woman, driving a red Toyota, pulled out from a stop sign on De Oro in front of a white Nissan that was traveling southbound on Clinton, according to Ben Guitron of the Indio Police Department. Though the mother suffered from minor to moderate head injuries, the child’s car seat became unfastened and rolled forward. The baby was badly shook up after the car accident. Both the mother and the baby were taken to a nearby area hospital. The driver of the Nissan was examined at the scene of the car crash but was let go.

It has to be said that this incident could have turned into a potentially dangerous and tragic one. While driving with a baby on board, you can never be too careful! Running through stop signs is a major hazard.
