Driver Killed in San Diego County Rollover Car Accident
On August 6, authorities released the name of a 24-year-old man who was killed when his Toyota truck struck a row of parked cars, lost a tire, and subsequently overturned in Imperial Beach. John Kirk Colgan, Jr. hadn't been wearing a seat belt when he was ejected by the car crash, which occurred on the 1200 block of 11th Street around 10 p.m. on August 5, according to San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office. The cause of the San Diego County rollover car accident has still been under investigation.
Witnesses to the tragic auto accident performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Colgan when they saw what had happened, but he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics who arrived shortly thereafter. Colgan had lived in Imperial Beach and is survived by his wife and young son.
