Multiple Vehicle San Diego Car Accident on Interstate 15

One of San Diego County's main and most congested freeways, Interstate 15, had a six vehicle crash on July 8, 2009, leaving two lanes of traffic blocked for about an hour, just near the Rancho Penasquitos neighborhood.

None of the drivers or passengers involved in the large car wreck reported having any injuries. It occurred on the southbound lanes of I-15 just south of Rancho Penasquitos Boulevard around 8:01 a.m., California Highway Patrol indicated.

An ambulance was called to the scene due to the size and nature on the incident, but no one needed to be taken to the hospital, and it remained a precautionary measure, according to a San Diego Fire-Rescue dispatcher.

A SigAlert was kept in effect until 9:09 a.m. that day. You can read more about this multiple vehicle San Diego car accident in this 10News.com story.

Extra vehicles get involved in wreck pileup when they do not leave space cushions between them and the car ahead, making them unable to stop in time to avoid being part of the motor vehicle crash. All drivers are responsible to leave the appropriate amount so as not to rear-end others, especially in congested times such as rush hour in the mornings and evenings on an interstate freeway.
