Lorenzo Gabriel-Lopez-Gonzales Killed in San Diego Drunk Driving Car Accident

San Diego County Officials have confirmed the death of Lorenzo Gabriel-Lopez-Gonzalez, a passenger in a Vista drunk-driving auto accident this last Saturday night. The driver, Jesus Alonzo, 26, was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving. You can read more about this San Diego County car crash in this CBS8.com story.

San Diego County police came to the car accident scene at Highway 78 and Melrose Drive at about 11:30 p.m. realizing that the vehicle came from West Vista Way and Santa Clara Drive. The vehicle had crashed through the guardrail and ended up near the freeway!

According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office, Gabriel-Lopez-Gonzalez, 45, was thrown from the car and passed away 45 minutes later. He left behind his wife and their children who reside in Oceanside. Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family and particularly his children.

Jesus Alonzo was treated for injuries and was then arrested. San Diegans who are looking for a fun time on any given Saturday night should plan ahead on how they will get home when drinking. Every one should have a designated driver, plan to call a cab, stay the night where drinking, or use public transportation.
