Border Patrol Agent and 8 Passengers Injured in San Diego County Car Accident

Last Thursday night a border patrol agent was transporting eight suspected illegal immigrants to a border patrol station when the agent's truck overturned on Kitchen Creek Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the agent swerved to avoid hitting a mountain lion. The truck rolled and came to a stop upside down. All eight of the suspected illegal immigrants and the agent were taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries. As in the agent's case, many San Diego drivers have to watch out for animals on the street. In San Diego itself, dogs, cats and even animals such as raccoons or squirrels can pop up on the street. Because we as people dislike hurting animals we attempt to avoid hitting them. However, sometimes a car driver should go ahead and hit the animal if it means saving the passengers' lives. The sadness that comes from hitting an animal is much less than the pain that comes along with losing a life.
